Lost Dots is a boutique-style mocap tracking and solving company serving Motion Capture studios and production companies that use Motion Capture.
We provide top quality tracked and solved mocap data to ease data overflow in studios or to give a cost alternative to companies ordering directly from a Motion Capture studio. We're your go-to source for any projects that require fast, reliable, and timely data turn-around.

Lost Dots works with tracked .c3d or .trc files to deliver fully solved data onto your character(s).
Motion is kept as true to the original data as possible. It's edited to work well with props, match video reference, eliminate geometry crashing and floor penetration, and cater to any specified requirements of the project.

>> Can include finger solving
>> No limit of characters in a shot or length of shot
>> Actor set-up is included
>> Solved directly to character bones, or onto a pose based rig
>> Jitter and other unnatural movement from tracked data is removed
>> Audio is synched from audio files or using audio from video reference files
>> Mouth shapes, cheek puffs, eye blinks, and subtle facial nuances are adjusted to match reference video files
Retargetting
>> Previously existing animations can be retargetted onto new or updated characters
Looping
>> Any kind of cycle creation for locomotion; walks, runs...etc
Blending
>> Two or more shots can be blended seamlessly together to create longer sequences
Compilations
>> Two or more characters can be compiled into one scene so they are interacting with each other proportionately in space
For fastest turn around times, we recommend that the character(s) be delivered at least one week early to ensure they'll be suitable for Motion Capture data. Once tested, we'll send you a sample file so we can determine a visual target for your project.

Times
>> We'll develop a detailed delivery schedule for you when the scope of your project is determined. If requested, we'll deliver your data in priority sequence so we can get the most relevant data to you the fastest; we'll also send it in small batches as it is completed so you'll always have something to work with.
Format
>> Multi-character files can be split into single files and shots can be renamed to match your client's needs if requested. Files can be delivered in .fbx, .ma, and .mb formats. For other file types, Lost Dots will work with your team to create a customized conversion pipeline.
File Transfer
>> Lost Dots uses Amazon Simple Storage Service to safely and securely digitally transfer and store your valuable and confidential data.
Pricing
Pricing is based on a three tiered system to describe the types of shots
>>LITE: 4 or less talent per shot, minimal contact with each other (high fives…etc), no rolling or crawling around on the floor
>>MED: 1 or more talent, some moderate contact with other talent and/or the floor (rolling, crawling…etc)
>>HEAVY: 2 or more talent, heavy contact with each other and/or floor (heavy grappling, rugby scrums, football tackles…etc)
Orders of 1500 seconds of data or more in one month receive a 35% discount
>>>Monthly flat rates are available upon request and are customized to your needs
Most importantly, there are no hidden costs! When we give you your project quote, we are also giving you our word.
